Trivia

Publisher change

In September 2009 it was announced Codemasters had not renewed its contract to operate free-to-play MMO ArchLord in North America and Europe. The Korean publisher Webzen stepped in to keep it running in the West. The change of publisher and shift of servers happened on 2nd to 3rd October 2009.

References to the game

ArchLord is extensively used in the plot of the Belgian movie Ben-X. The autistic protagonist Ben uses the game as a refuge for the real world where he has trouble coping with his limitations and the bullying of his schoolmates. The game was altered and prepared for the movie by the developers.
