Daria's Inferno

Only for hard-core fans of the show.

The Good
Any "Daria" fan will be delighted by the new dialogue and animation contained in the game (especially now, with the series coming to an end). It was done by one of the show's actual writers and is exactly what fans have come to expect. The story was humorous as well, and would have translated well to the show, as a fantasy/filler episode.

The Bad
The only real problem with the game is its difficulty, or rather, lack thereof. Most of the puzzles are very simple, and the items to solve them are rarely concealed at all, making for a very linear exercise. Barring a few "where's the item I need" problems, any experienced adventure gamer will breeze through this one in a matter of hours.

A lot of it is just tedious. There are a number of mazes to navigate, and a lot of puzzles involve finding something to get an annoying character from the show off Daria's back. Using such items provokes a reaction from the character, but their reply is the same every time, and there are multiples of the character walking around so the repetition quickly becomes very irritating.

The Bottom Line
Play this one only if you're a diehard fan of the MTV cartoon series. As a "Daria" fan, I loved it, but as an adventure game player I was sorely disappointed.
