The Forgotten: It Begins

The original concept was good. Too bad they didn't follow through.

The Good
The Forgotten tells the tale of "A King, A Shaman, Brothers at War" who use decks of cards for interdimensional travel, changing the past and future. The creator of the storyline brings a new, and totally original, twist to the battle of good versus evil.

The graphics are well designed and the music was well orchestrated, but not fantastic.

The Bad
Because this was intended to be the first in a series, some places contained an object that looked like it should be a puzzle. One could only assume that we might be able to work with it in a later episode. The inventory can become full thereby requiring the player to move some of them to a "storage" area, a totally unnecessary step which only seems to put up roadblocks for the player.

There were bugs throughout the game mostly caused by the insufficient graphics engine. The cursor was quirky and in some spots inconsistent.

The Bottom Line
The game was totally too short. Just when I was getting into the story, it ended. I had hoped they would promptly make the first sequel, because I liked what I had seen so far, despite the bugs in design. It wasn't meant to be and, unfortunately, The Forgotten began but will never reach a conclusion.
