Press Release - Gameboy Color

Do you hate Emperor Zurg as much as we do?

If so, you'll get an intergalactic kick out of Buzz Lightyear's latest Game Boy Color adventure. Based on the new Disney/Pixar television series, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command takes players through twelve action-packed stages crawling with Emperor Zurg's evil minions.

Controlling Buzz Lightyear himself, players guide the elite Space Ranger through vertically-scrolling levels, collecting power-ups and special items along the way. A different boss chases Buzz through each level, culminating in a fierce battle when Buzz reaches the finish line. Buzz only has a limited time to reach this showdown, but he can speed up his progress by jumping on jetpacks, hoverboards, jetbikes and more.

This game is designed to appeal to a very young audience, so fittingly the levels and bosses are easy to defeat. Unfortunately, though, a limited number of levels makes this game a bit short even for the target audience. Disney Interactive attempted to beef up the replay value by adding medals to be collected in each level, but with no real reward system in place it's hardly worth the effort.

Nevertheless, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command features colorful graphics and characters from the television series which young fans will immediately recognize. If the words "To infinity, and beyond!" echo through your house on a regular basis, then this Pak will likely deliver a few smiles.

Now available, Disney/Pixar's Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is compatible only with Game Boy Color.
