Plundered Hearts

aka: Ribbons and Rapiers
Moby ID: 473

DOS version

A great story, though it ends a bit suddenly.

The Good
Plundered hearts would make a good introduction to interactive fiction games. In addition to a great story (pirates are always a winner), the puzzles aren't too challenging and the game is even a bit more non-linear than most others.

The Bad
As mentioned, the game is a bit short (finished it in one day). Also, the main character is a female, which may disturb some male players somewhat (like when the bad guy tries to get you into his bed). These, however, are just minor details that in no way take away from the overall enjoyment of the game.

The Bottom Line
More "fun" and less "frustrating" than other Infocom titles. Plus, the original packaging came with a lot of neat inclusions.
