Denki Blocks!

Denki Blocks! may not be a graphical dazzler, but puzzle fans should enjoy this novel puzzler for the Game Boy Advance.

Denki Blocks! is not a Tetris clone in which blocks fall from the ceiling and you must group them together. Instead, you must slide multicolored Gumblocks within a frame, grouping like-colored blocks.

When you press a direction on the Control Pad, all the Gumblocks in the puzzle slide in unison until they come in contact with the frame or a stationary white Blocker.

Like all good puzzle games, Denki Blocks! is easy to learn but difficult to master. Once you get the hang of it, you can try getting the fastest time or eliminating blocks in the fewest moves. There are even challenges that require you to form a specific shape with the Gumblocks.

There is no head-to-head multiplayer action. Instead, rivals take turns with a single Game Boy Advance unit. In Race mode, up to four players can compete to see who can finish a puzzle in the shortest amount of time. All Change! mode lets each player create his or her own shape, then challenge the other players to copy it. Finally, players in Battle mode take turns on a single board.

Denki Blocks! is a refreshing puzzle game that offers hours of brain-bending puzzles. Majesco also offers a Game Boy Color version of Denki blocks with simpler graphics and fewer modes, but much the same fun.

This game has been rated "E" (Everyone) by the independent Entertainment Software Rating Board. Progress is saved to the Game Pak in one of three save files.
