Real Warfare: 1242 re-tells the resistance of Alexander Newski, a Russian national hero, against the Mongol conquest of his country. During the campaign the player has to solve eight missions based on real battles.
This game is a traditional real-time tactics game and very similar to the predecessor XIII Century: Death or Glory. To beat a mission a linear sequence of objectives has to be fulfilled. Archers, soldiers and horsemen have to tactically used to be successful. Between missions troops can be upgraded or replaced with a limited money budget.
Additionally the game features single missions in which the player can take control over 24 historical factions.
