Chuck Rock

Moby ID: 7428

Genesis version

Platforming perils in prehistoric places.

The Good
Five levels of platforming fun filled with great cartoon-style graphics, hilarious enemies, platforming perils and first-rate music. Chuck himself is a side-splitting creation, with a whole range of animations, and the levels include tropical jungles, spooky caves, watery landscapes, icy mountains and a dinosaur graveyard. Presentation is good. The title screen shows Chuck and friends in a prehistoric rock band, and the varied monsters and beasts all have humorous ways of falling over whenever Chuck jump-kicks them or clobbers them with his huge belly.

The Bad
I can't find any faults in this game.

The Bottom Line
Jump across the platforms, collect varied items for points and defeat the end-of-level bosses as you journey through a comic prehistoric world to find and rescue Chuck's beloved. There are varied enemies, ranging from dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals to giant crabs and grinning swordfish. There are five levels, each with its own theme, and there are plenty of secret bonuses to be found.
