Viscera Cleanup Detail
Description official description
That mess that the hero made while fighting through the facility? The janitor will clean it up. The player steps into the shoes of that janitor. With themed levels to clean up (from laboratories to mining sites), the player has to do everything from cleaning up the body parts, to mopping the floors, walls and even sometimes the ceiling.
The player is given a few tools to aid in the cleaning effort: a trusty mop, broom, gloves, plasma laser and sniffer tool. Dropped off in the facility is a dispensing unit for both mop buckets and bio-hazard buckets, and an incinerator. The incinerator is used for disposing of the various items left lying around in the facility. The bio-hazard buckets are to be used to carry multiple smaller items to the incinerator for disposal. The players uses the mop to clean up the blood and the other fluids, though if too much is mopped up, it redeposits causing more work. The plasma laser is good for buffing out bullet holes, plasma scarring, and for starting fires (note: starting fires is a bad idea). In addition to standard cleaning the player can complete hidden objectives to earn additional commendation, such as stacking crates in designated crate stacking locations or restocking deadly alien incubators with deadly alien eggs.
Once the player feels they have sufficiently cleaned they will clock out and be graded. High marks will result in a 5% raise (note: the janitor is not paid) and moving up several spaces on the safety equipment waiting list (note: there is no safety equipment). Low marks result in a 5% penalty to wages and removal from the safety equipment waiting list. Any items collected in a level and placed in the janitor's lock box will be brought to their office, where they can be used to decorate the home away from home to their choosing. Along with the 1.07 patch also comes an almost legitimate questline, where the player can, across multiple levels, track down and discover the fate of Bob, their janitorial predecessor who was fired for conduct unbecoming.
Included with the game is both an integrated and a standalone version of Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa's Workshop and Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior (included with Shadow Warrior).
