Windows version

Best for fans of the show.

The Good
This game does a great job of maintaining the feel of the Law & Order series. With a script by a L&O writer and the voices of three of the show's leads, this is not a cheap attempt at making a quick buck. Loyal viewers will immediately recognize the show's sounds, atmosphere and sense of humor in this game. In addition, the story contains some of the trademark L&O twists and turns.

The Bad
There is some flexibility in the game - for example, you can lose the case - and some of the puzzles are fairly clever. However, in order to actually get to trial you have to do a set group of tasks, and completing some of these tasks takes a fair amount of trial and error. The point and click interface can also be a little difficult to deal with, as many of the items to be picked up are hard to make out from the background. However, you can choose to have the game help you with both highlighting items and giving you hints when you are stuck.

The Bottom Line
This is clearly not an action game. This is best suited for fans of adventure games and of the television series the game is based on. It's also fairly short. However, it can be picked up for pretty cheap and is a good slice of entertainment for those who can't get enough of America's favorite detectives.
