Tic Tac
- Tic Tac (1977 on Altair 8800)
Description
Tic Tac is a puzzle game of observation and analysis of several drawings mapped to a grid of rectangular cells. The computer makes one cell empty and mixes up other cells of the drawing by making sliding moves that use the empty space, following a random path. The player's task is to recompose in turns the mixed-up drawing by sliding the cell adjacent to the empty cell to swap them around.
There are several differences in the implemented versions of the game. Oric version contains six drawings, while Thomson version contains 4 drawings. The grid in Oric version is 7x6, and in Thomson version it is 6x9. Thomson version represents an original drawing along with the mixed-up drawing to compare the progress. Oric version requires the player to type in the coordinates of the cell adjacent to the empty cell, while Thomson version allows to slide the empty cell with arrow keys.
There are several difficulty levels defining the length of the mixing path. Best scores are stored in top seven table.
