Kid Chaos

aka: Kid Vicious
Moby ID: 8099

Amiga version

Nice graphics and music, but let down by flawed gameplay

The Good
The gorgeous graphics and terrific, stylish presentation. The first set of levels, in the Secret Garden area, really are addictive and fun-packed. Also, the music throughout the game is great. My favourite tunes are in the Secret Garden, Toxic Wasteland and Techno Fortress levels. Nice ending, as well.

The Bad
It all becomes preposterously difficult. You have to fight against tight time limits and avoid enemies, but there are objects everywhere which prevent you from running at speed. Therefore, the fast scrolling seems rather redundant. Kid Chaos himself is a pretty sad character, just another attempt to sell the game by having a character who is 'cool' or 'hard' or whatever.

The Bottom Line
A platform game in which you, as a caveman brought into the future by evil scientists, must make your way through various levels such as toxic wastelands, car factories and so on. Each level consists of several areas, and at the end of which is a sub-game (for example, at the end of Secret Garden you must use balls to demolish a wall bit-by-bit, and in Toxic Wasteland you must shoot barrels of toxic waste which fall from above.
