Computer Gaming World (CGW) (Dec, 1991)
An operational simulation of the invasion of Normandy, this game is easy to learn, although the documentation covering the actual landings leaves much to be desired. A solid intermediate level game in 1984, it is dated and suffers from a lack of joystick input, yet this reviewer still enjoys it.
Computer Gaming World (CGW) (Mar, 1983)
The time used in the computer's moves is a dramatic improvement upon earlier SSI titles, having a minimum of "dead time" as the computer moves units and determines combat. No option is presented, unfortunately, for checking at the end of a movement phase to double-check with the player for acceptance of that turn's movement. Overall, Battle for Normandy is an enjoyable game that will allow multiple playings and repeated playings with equal satisfaction.
