BoinkOut2
Description
BoinkOut2 is a Breakout conversion. The player controls a bat at the lower border of the screen and has to bound a ball flying around to crush all stones in a level. If the ball passes the lower border, a life is lost.
The paddle is controlled with the mouse and unlike the original game, the paddle can also be moved vertically in a small range. A high-score table keeps track of your success. The game runs with any color depth (from monochrome up to 256 colors).

Trivia
Ranked #2 in The MagiC Game Contest '99
In 1999 there was a competition organised by the two community websites MagiC Online and The Place 2 be to convert a classic video- or computer game to GEM ("GEM" is the graphical user interface of the Atari ST operating system "TOS" -- using it's window and graphic routines are much slower than utilising the hardware directly like most commercial games did at that time). Out of ten games in the competition, BoinkOut2 was ranked #2.
Original game
BoinkOut2 names itself as successor to BoinkOut! by Samuel Streeper released as part of a blitter programming tutorial in STart magazine (November 1990).
