Avalanche Snowboarding is a mobile snowboarding game. The game is played from a third-person perspective and uses a mix of 2D and 3D graphics. Focus lies on doing different tricks and each course has different layouts of ramps and rails. Tricks are easy to do: the player can do spins and flips with the use of the directional keys while in the air and it's also possible to do tailgrabs, indies, methods, one foots and christ airs. When boardsliding on a rail, the player simply presses right and left buttons to keep the balance. The game has a quick play mode as well as a career mode. In the quick play mode the player simply has to get a high score by performing the most impressive tricks.
In the career mode the player collects stars by completing different objectives and achievements. These stars are then used to unlock new events. When completing an event the player also gets new gear that can be used to customize the player character. There are several ways to gain stars. Objectives include reaching a high score, finishing a race at a set position or within a specified time. It can also be done by scoring a certain amount of points on specific tricks such as spins and boardslides. The scoring is all about doing tricks and it's possible to do chains to get a larger combo multiplier. The game consists of four different areas (glacier, town, stadium and forest), each with a number of events.
