Pac-Avoid
Description
Pac-Avoid is a clone of Scamperghost with completely identical gameplay. It borrows from the concept of Pac-Man, but with a twist and turns it into a pure avoidance game. The player controls a character in small arena with no walls. The goal is to survive and to eat as many coins as possible while avoiding ghosts. For every 50 coins a new life is granted. Coins are also used to fill a meter that slows down time when activated, making it easier to get out of a difficult situation. At certain moments rage pills spawn that turn the tables and allow the character to eat the ghosts. Coins spawn in random patterns as they are eaten. Ghosts spawn in the middle of the screen. As the game progresses, the game becomes more difficult with more ghosts, faster ones and large ones that fall asleep and can block the path.

Trivia
Controversy
On his personal website (see related links section) the artist Matthew Cox of Stolen Goose Games responsible for the game Scamperghost claims his game was cloned by King.com as Pac-Avoid. Next to comparing all the similarities between the games, he describes how Stolen Goose was in contact with Lars Jörnow at King.com to license the game. The deal fell through because Stolen Goose decided to work with MaxGames.com instead and King.com released Pac-Avoid with almost identical visuals and gameplay mechanics shortly after Scamperghost's release. Cox was able to track down the clone's development team Epic Shadow Entertainment and developer Matt Porter confirmed King.com asked them to clone the game and if possible even before the original game's release.
