DOS version

A rather disappointing expansion

The Good
They kept most of the good things from Tiberian Dawn. If you liked the game and are looking for more missions, this expansion is pretty much the only option, as there's no map editor or random generator available. The 15 new single player missions are diverse and definitely not too easy. There are some new mission ideas and some units which were previously only available in the multiplayer mode.

The Bad
There's nothing new! No new units, no new campaigns, no new video briefing, no new cutscenes. Instead of having two new campaigns like C&C's main competitor's expansion pack the new missions are lovelessly presented in text-only menu with text-only briefings, adorned by the same cutscenes we know from the main game. Also, 15 missions isn't a lot, even if they are difficult. And they can get really, really difficult, which can be frustrating sometimes.

The Bottom Line
If you really need to have a handful additional missions for Command & Conquer or if you found the missions of the main game too easy, this expansion is for you. Otherwise, you get better value in the expansion packs of most other real-time strategy games, both in within the C&C series and without.
