Description official description

The sequel to the 2007 role-playing game Eschalon: Book I takes the player out of familiar surroundings and into a completely new part of the world of Eschalon.

Like its predecessor, the game is an old-school turn-based role-playing game with the outcome of every action being determined by the player statistics. New additions include weather effects (which actually influences gameplay), the option to select the gender of your character, the addition of hunger and thirst affecting your survival, and making items and equipment suffer from entropy. Most of these additions can be turned off before playing for more conservative players.

Thaermore has fallen, overrun by monsters from neighbouring Amireth. You have been forced to flee to the land Midlande, purchasing a cottage just outside of the town of Eastwillow. Your life becomes slow and uneventful. That is until you discover a note left on you doorstep asking for you to see a man you do not remember ever meeting....

A fantastic sequel!

The Good
Eschalon is an RPG in more classical style, where you must go outdoors and also dungeons to uncover the mystery of who (or what) you are.

This is an epic adventure made to resemble the sensations of old school RPGs, with titles such as Ultima, Might & Magic and Wizardry.

Turn-based, any action is taken in Eschalon, calculated or statistically determined. The strategy is the one who guides the success. A good use of your skills, choice of equipment and magic will bring him the victory, and not agile mouse.

Hundreds of items and dozens of creatures await you to discover. A combination of randomly generated treasure and benefits for you to show that every adventure is different and need not be played the same way.

Choose from 24 unique skills and eight basic attributes that guide the behavior and every action of your character during the adventure. The world of Eschalon is not adapted to a peculiar style of play, so the game's difficulty is directly related to its ability to build and develop your character.

The battles take place at your pace. The mode allows you to turn-based battles unfolding in the speed you want. Let the adrenaline run wild in fights fast and intense, and carefully examine all options to get more benefits.

A non-linear storyline lets you explore the world of Eschalon as desired. Follow it or not, the choice is solely yours. Just be careful where you step, because this world can be fatal for an inexperienced adventurer.

The Bad
Only one small critique: in the beginning, your character walks very, very slowly.

The Bottom Line
An RPG game that bring back the classics of the genre. Enter in this world and take all possible decisions.
