Escape from Rungistan
Description official description
While trying to sneak across the border to Rungistan you were caught and thrown in jail. You must use all the tools available to you to escape and make the long and perilous journey back across the border.
Escape From Rungistan depicts your adventures in black and white line graphics and short text descriptions. The RETURN key toggles you back and forth between text and graphics. Despite its general adventure game feel, some puzzles occur in real time and there are some short arcade-like sequences such as when you have to ski down a hill avoiding the trees in your path.

Escape from Rungistan is inferior in every way to other adventure games of its time.
The Good
The only thing I liked about the game was that it was mercifully short.
The Bad
The graphics were terrible, even for a 1982 game. Not only were they ugly, but they added nothing to the gameplay experience. This could have been an all-text adventure.
The mini-games were badly implemented too. All of the action sequences suffered from poor controls and constant flickering.
The command parser was very picky, often to the point where you would get killed because you couldn't guess the words that were in its vocabulary.
Finally, the story had potential, but it fell flat in a big way towards the middle and end of the game.
The Bottom Line
Escape from Rungistan is an example of everything that was wrong with early graphics adventure games.
