Description

Gaegujangi Kkachi is a Korean-made platform game starring Kkachi, the rebellious kid and the protagonist of Lee Hyun-se's cartoon A Daunting Team. In the original work Kkachi is a baseball player who opposes the dictatorial tendencies of the South Korean regimes of the 1980's. The game, however, is purely fantasy-based, and resembles Alex Kidd in Miracle World in style and concept.

Kkachi has to traverse side-scrolling or vertical platform stages, defeating regular enemies and bosses, and trying not to fall into bottomless pits. He can slap enemies or execute special moves, which require specific items to be collected. Money is represented by fruit, garlic and comparable items that are scattered through the stages, and can be used in shops.

The player can choose between six initial stages, each requiring him to collect a key needed to unlock the next area. Each stage has difference thematics, including a graveyard, a futuristic facility, underwater passages, a shooting stage riding a vulture, and others.
