Himawari: Pebble in the Sky Portable

The story takes place in year 2050 and centers on Youichi Hinata, a high-school student who lost his parents in a tragic accident. Constantly hanging out with his close, yet eccentric buddy, Ginga Amamiya, the two of them are working on a project to make a rocket and launch it all the way to the moon. Foolish task for the kids, but they're serious about it in their own way. One peaceful night, while Youichi was on the phone with his childhood friend, Asuka, talking about the stars, he noticed a falling star. Not thinking too much of it at the time, after the phone call he noticed there was something different about it. It wasn't a falling star... it was something else, and it fell down nearby. He went out in the dead of night to try to locate the fallen object. On his way there, he run into Ginga and the two of them approached the park where instead of a fallen meteor, they saw a small spaceship. Not sure what sort of alien they might encounter, or if it's even alive, they opened the hatch only to see a dazed girl in place of a pilot. Seeing how Youichi is living alone, and until they figure out what to do next, they decide that Youichi should take her in for the time being. And thus the story of Youichi and Aries begins.

The story is presented in two different timelines. The present time in 2050, and two years prior the accident, in 2048. The game contains all the expected gameplay features to be found in a visual novel, such as message log with ability to skip to previous scenes or replay dialogues, quicksave and quickload options as we as regular save option with up to 99 slots, the ability to remove the text to see the clear background picture, and bonus galleries and music player. The PSP port main differences in comparison to the original release is that it has full voice-acting for non-player characters, additional episode that extends the story, and many new CG events making this port contain three times the original.

Originally released as Himawari for PC (Windows) in 2007 as adult visual novel, in 2010 the port to PSP got renamed to Himawari: Pebble in the Sky Portable. In 2011, the game got released on iOS and Android devices through three chapters, which included a bonus fandisk episode called Himawari: Aqua After. In 2012, both iOS and Android releases stopped existing as separate chapters and were integrated in a single all-chapter releases. In 2015, the PSP version was ported to PSVita as Himawari: Pebble in the Sky which included more additional content.
