Legends of 100 Heroes is a free-to-play RPG with both a campaign and a multiplayer mode. Players can decide whether they want to explore the story or fight against others in the Arena. Different types of opponents can be defeated by experimenting with combinations of heroes and skills. It is also possible to join or create legions (guilds) with other players and fight together in various game modes.

Battles are fought in 2D side-scrolling environments with the heroes taking turns in turn-based combat. The game is free-to-play with a basic and a premium currency. Additional heroes are won or acquired through cards.
