Old style rpg for some good nostalgia time

The Good
Well, Keys to Maramon does a pretty good job in putting you in the atmosphere of the game: locked in this city under siege by monsters, where you have to find out what to do and, of course, how to profit on this whole thing. The manual does a pretty good job in introducing each of the four characters you can play, and provides a nice background for them. Interacting with NPCs is pretty easy and quite 'adventure'-like too. Graphics are nothing special but rather functional, even though without the map included in the manual, you will get lost very easily.

The Bad
At the end of the day, Keys to Maramon surely lacks the depth of other old Rpgs, even older ones on the C64 did a better job in the character creation and development. Combat is pretty shallow too, just pound like crazy on the keyboard until either you or the monsters are dead. Then grab the money left behind by them, go buy some new equipment, some magic or some potion then it all begins again the next day.

The Bottom Line
A pretty good trip down nostalgia lane for those who want to see a decent Rpg of the early nineties (or should I say, late eighties). Don't expect to be blown away though.
