A fantastic pinball simulation for early PCs.
The Good
There is so much to like about Night Mission Pinball that I can only spend so much time describing it, but here goes:
- Completely tweakable parameters, from the spin of the ball, to the force of the bumpers, to the tilt of the table
- Ball movement is very realistic--ball physics are accurate
- Sound effects are appropriate and good
It's really fun to play, in a nutshell. It's also fun to increase the playfield tilt so much that the ball comes rocketing toward you at breakneck speeds :-) Or, you can lower it so much that the ball just wanders lazily around.
The Bad
It only runs at the correct speed on a true 4.77MHz XT. It also doesn't save high scores to disk, which sort-of negates the desire to play pinball in the first place.
The Bottom Line
If you have an old PC that you can hook up to the TV somehow, this is a really fun pinball simulation.
