Numbers Game: Numberama
Description
This simple numbers game requires the player to scratch out all the numbers on the screen. The only way to scratch out numbers is with a pair of digits, or if the sum of the two digits is 10. Though, those digits need to be next to each other either vertically or horizontally. Once a number is scratched out, those spots are considered empty, and the player can then skip over those spots to scratch out more numbers. Once there are no more available moves due to no pairs being able to be scratched out, the player can "Check". Once the player Checks, the game adds all the numbers currently not scratched out to the end of the grid. There are two ways to complete a mode, the player can either scratch out every number, or have a game that result in no possible moves.
There are a few game modes, each mode has a help function that gives a hint on the player's next possible move:
- 1-18:
The basic game, the numbers from 1 through 18 are used and arranged into a grid. Only the numbers 1 through 9 are used, so the number ten is present as only a 1. Once a row is completely scratched out, the player has the option to clear that row and tidy up the playing grid. The starting playing grid is as follows:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
1 1 1 2 1 3 1 4 1
5 1 6 1 7 1 8
- 1-19:
Runs the same as the 1-18 mode, except that 19 is added. The starting playing grid is as follows:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
1 1 1 2 1 3 1 4 1
5 1 6 1 7 1 8 1 9
-
Quick mode:
This mode has the option of a starting grid of either 1-18 or random numbers. The random numbers grid will be the same size as a 1-18 grid. This mode is designed to create a quicker game by allowing two things: 1) the help option refresh timer is sped up considerably, 2) it automatically advises once there isn't any further moves and to Check. -
Column mode:
This mode doesn't allow the clearing of rows, but of columns. This makes for a trickier game than previous modes, as you can easily run into a game that has no moves. There is an option of a 1-18 grid, or random number grid. -
Time duel:
This mode is a test on how quick the player is to solve a grid. The starting grid for this mode is random digits.
