If you are still into the Assassin’s Creed games or if you are waiting for the next gen Assassin’s Creed that is actually really good then I would recommend you pick this up. Even if you haven’t played any of the previous games I would still recommend you pick this up because it may shock you. I found this to be one the best Assassin’s Creed games in a long time and it looks like Ubisoft has found their way to win back fans after the disappointing Assassin’s Creed Unity.
It doesn't offer many surprises, but Syndicate represents a return to form for Assassin's Creed.
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is a nice return to form for the series. It makes up for a lot of Unity’s mistakes, which is welcome. It has two generally likable protagonists, the content is usually fun, and the story is acceptable. It doesn’t quite reach the heights as Brotherhood, or Black Flag, but is still a very good Assassin’s Creed game, and if you like the series, it should be played. The grappling hook is key here and once you got it down, you’ll be swinging across Victorian London in no time. It’s a worthy game to carry on the Assassin’s Creed name, in any event.
By now, everyone should know what to expect from an Assassin’s Creed game, and Syndicate is exactly what you would expect. There are a few new gimmicks thrown in, and the setting and lead characters are superb. But repetitive missions and gameplay that has failed to change significantly in years leave Assassin’s Creed Syndicate feeling somewhat stale. While it may be one of the best Assassin’s Creed games in a while, with each year that passes the series is falling behind the competition. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is worth picking up for the fans, but is by no means an essential purchase.
However, unlike last year’s disastrous Assassin’s Creed Unity, Syndicate actually evolves and refines some key aspects in order to make the experience a little fresher – or at least slightly less like a videogame released in 2008.
For fans of the series who love the running, jumping and killing, you'll find your fun here. For those longing for the meaningful tales full of mystical wonders, The Ones Who Came Before, and a reason to be dipping into the past, don't bother. It's time to turn away, or just lower your expectations.
