PlayStation 2 screenshots
The title screen
This is the main menu.
The bonus features
The player unlocks other craft as they progress
The bonus material available at the start are trailers for Bounty Hunter and Racer Revenge
The controller configuration
Starting the game
The game is played in Story Mode and the game starts at Act I. There are five optional training missions and these must be manually selected
The objective for the first of the optional training missions
The Bonus objective in each mission has to be unlocked, usually by completing the main objective within a target time
The first training mission is to fly through a series of rings. The L1 button, highlighted, applies the brakes, R1 extra thrust, Left stick steers and the right stick rolls the craft
Training mission one. the end of mission score sheet. The bonus objective was not unlocked
Training mission two teaches the player about weapons. There's a handy zoom control that allows targets to be hit at long range
The player can issue commands to their wing men to attack or protect targets. This is via the red control window in the lower left. Here they are protecting the big ship in the right middle
The start of Act I of the main game. Good to see some traditions have been preserved
The missions start with an animated, cinematic, sequence. Here Dooku is asking for a status update on an illegal weapons program in one of the outer systems
Act I. So we arrive in the Ruby Nebula to meet an informant. The background artwork is really very good
The second mission of Act I is set on a planet and not in space
Capturing an in-game action shot is not easy. Though this looks like a mess in the game it looks terrific with enemy droids all over the place
Act I: Mission 2. When all the droids have been destroyed this battleship shows up with more droids, big cannon plus troop carrying landing craft
