2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is a quality soccer game, which does a very good job of bringing this year's upcoming World Cup to armchair sports fans' living rooms. However, it's ultimately overmatched by FIFA 14, in terms of both content and current-gen functionality.
2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil doesn't have the depth of an annual release, lacking the online modes that have made recent FIFA games so enormously popular and featuring slightly simplified gameplay. It does, however, contain enough standalone content and brand new ideas to justify a purchase, and while it may not last too far beyond the upcoming tournament in June, it's still cheaper than an England shirt.
2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is a fun and celebratory football game that captures the glorious month of the World Cup delightfully. It’s not a replacement for the mainline series, especially if you are a PS4 or Xbox One owner, but the increased pace and the change to attacking play means this year’s World Cup game is exciting, even if it isn’t innovative. As the World Cup month draws closer, people are going to be in the spirit and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is a good way for people to become even more immersed in the event. Solo or with friends, 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will be doing the samba until the summer is over and everything returns to regular scheduling. It might only be worthwhile for a couple of months, but 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is a solid, fun and good football game to fill in the downtime between World Cup matches.
As I’ve mentioned many times though, this is meant for the casual player, the same casual player that probably only watches soccer every four years. In that respect, the game is perfect for them, especially since this is most certainly the best World Cup video game EA has ever made. In all honesty though, anyone that already owns FIFA 14 should probably think about renting this first, before plopping down $60 for a game that is very similar to something they already own.
Richtig: FIFA 15. Wem soll man das empfehlen?
