The Attack
Description official description
Originally called "Alien Attack," this game pits the player against alien "spores." Although the spores themselves are harmless, they can join together to form giant aliens that chase you down and eat you. To make matters more interesting, scattered around the playing field are a number of "incubators," which can hatch either more spores or, at later levels (or in early levels, in more advanced difficulty levels), more aliens. Use your ship's weapons to blast the spores before they can make new aliens, and blast any aliens before they can devour you.

Destroy the alien spores before the turn into lethal red aliens!
The Good
At more advanced levels, when there are lots of deadly aliens running around, the pace is very quick.
There are four levels, so you largely get to set the pace of the game.
The Bad
The pace is very slow until there are lots of aliens. Chasing after the spores is very dull and tedious.
Movement is jerky, and action largely stops when you fire.
Annoying background "music" (a single "beating" note).
The Bottom Line
You are in a sector filled with purple spores and black generators that slowly count down to zero. Depending on the level, the generators will release a number of spores or a red alien. The spores can't hurt you, but the aliens are deadly to the touch. Four spores together can combine to form a new alien. Clear the sector, and advance to the next level.
