Tight controls and cheeky humor make Brave and the Bold an easy recommendation for bat and brawler fans alike. Accessible and entertaining, it’s also a perfect fit for –familyplay.
1UP (Sep 07, 2010)
If you know you're getting into an easy and simple brawler, then The Brave and The Bold is one heck of a ride. It's unapologetically simple and goofy, and it not only presents a good throwback to the 16-bit era, but also to a more lighthearted take on Batman in general. Overall, while it errs a bit too much toward simplicity, The Brave And The Bold is a great family-friendly Batman game, and is honestly my favorite Batman title not called Batman: Arkham Asylum.
As long as you're okay with things getting a little mindless, there's an awful lot here to enjoy. In particular, younger gamers will adore it as it really does feel like playing through a cartoon while older gamers will be impressed by its sheer technical ability, even if it doesn't offer much of a challenge. An impressive effort.
Gamervision (Sep 14, 2010)
It could be incredibly easy to write Batman: The Brave and the Bold off as unimportant because it’s been made for a younger audience. If you did that, you’d be missing out on a pretty solid title that’s worthy of your time and attention. Kids will absolutely love getting to play as the characters they’ve been watching every weekend, and parents can join in on the action to spend some quality time enjoying the simple pleasures of a well constructed side-scroller. Batman: The Brave and the Bold may not be the definitive Batman game of this generation, but it gets the job done, and more importantly, it’s fun to play.
Overall, I was impressed with Batman: The Brave and the Bold. While it certainly isn't the best Batman game ever made, I will say it is the best based on a Batman animated property, and it continues the ongoing trend of great Batman games. Though this title skews younger than most, for what it is, it works perfectly well. The drop-in/drop out co-op makes this a natural choice for families who enjoy playing games together. If you are a fan of the Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series and want a humorous title that is full of fun (if simplistic) action and some great production, this title is certainly worth your time.
In conclusion, Batman the Brave and the Bold the Videogame is a slick arcade beat 'em up that pays homage well to the cartoon series and is a fun game to play from start to finish. As an older gamer, it would have been nice if there was an option for some harder gameplay but compared to the lacklustre titles that are currently available for the Nintendo Wii at the moment, this game is leaps and bounds above its competitors. With flawless gameplay, a great 2-player co-mode and endless Brave and the Bold references, this is a fun game and is ideal for those who love the series or looking for something a little different in the world of gaming.
Destructoid (Sep 07, 2010)
Batman: The Brave and the Bold doesn’t do anything "bold" in terms of game design, but it doesn’t try to; instead, it delivers a solid and enjoyable experience from beginning to end. It isn’t going to win anyone over for its finger-blistering difficulty, either, so fans looking for an old-school challenge should check their expectations accordingly. But super sharp visuals and clever writing make this a collection of Batman adventures you won’t want to miss.
Worth Playing (Sep 22, 2010)
Batman: The Brave and The Bold is exactly what fans of the series want from a video game. Like the show, it features plenty of action and lots of co-op play with a heavy dose of humor both in and out of the cut scenes. It may be a short and easy game, but the co-op aspect along with the fun gameplay makes it an overall enjoyable experience. Casual fans of the show and character will have some fun renting this one, while the more ardent fans and younger gamers will have a good time replaying this one a few times. For the latter group, this title comes highly recommended.
Game Critics (Oct 04, 2010)
Annoyances aside, Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a fun romp through corners of the DC Universe, in terms of both characters and characterization, that have been underutilized. The game will not reward those who want deep gameplay or devotees of the self-important, ostentatiously dark depiction of Batman. However, fans of the TV series and those who want to experience the lighter side of the character without a punishing challenge will find much to appreciate.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold is a fun, if somewhat repetitive, co-op game that is ideal for Batman fans of all ages. A lot of the game’s success can be attributed to the developers going out of their way to make it an as authentic Batman experience as possible. If you are a fan of Batman: The Brave and the Bold then there really is no excuse for not playing this game.
AusGamers (Sep 22, 2010)
Perhaps Batman: The Brave and the Bold has been designed as a way of introducing these classic, often-overlooked characters to an all-new audience, and we’ll see a new generation of kids who believe that Black Canary is the best thing ever, recognize Jay Garrick as the Fastest Man Alive and who truly appreciate that Aquaman really is a laughing stock.
Gameplanet (Sep 10, 2010)
A faithful game conversion of the popular animated TV show, The Brave and the Bold casts a familiar hero in a series of madcap adventures with friends and foe alike. It's not perfect, but it sure is fun.
Gaming Nexus (Oct 04, 2010)
Batman: The Brave and the Bold is equal parts classic beat-em-up and tribute to the beloved animated series. It's a brawler that anyone, genre fans included, can pick up and have a good time with. For fans of the TV show it's a must own, replicating the series' charm and campy wit with all the same writing, voice talent and art style.
NZGamer (Sep 15, 2010)
The unashamedly jovial and fun tone of Batman: The Brave and the Bold is sure to please gamers young and old. Of course, this game will definitely appeal to fans of the cartoon series and manages to capture its aesthetic beautifully. The game also makes for some great two player action thanks to the drop in and out gameplay that lets anyone join in at anytime.
Nintendojo (Sep 20, 2010)
Overall, Batman: The Brave and The Bold elevates the brawler genre with an interactive, funny story. There are not too many games as clever and humorous as this title, and the 2D visuals pop with style to almost match the comedy. A few things hold back the experience, though — mainly the lackluster bosses and a few bland levels. Regardless, The Dark Knight stills shines in this wonderful Wii adventure.
GamingXP (Sep 20, 2010)
Extreme Gamer (Oct 06, 2010)
'Batman: The Brave and the Bold' is a far cry from the shadows of Arkham, but if you love the man with the icon of the bat, 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold' is one tale you don't want to miss. It is a lot of fun, optimized for co-op play and geared for the younger audience who might not “get” the darker side of the bat. I really enjoyed WayForward's take on the television series, and it is great to see some of these other DC faces getting some game time. Plastic Man, gotta love those twisty arms.

Joystiq (Sep 07, 2010)
But as an otherwise entertaining take on a quirky new version of the Caped Crusader and pals, Batman: The Brave and the Bold: The Videogame succeeds at being more than just typical, haphazard licensed fare. Genuine laughs and amusing scenarios await within, and if you can keep in mind that you're probably several times older than the target audience, it's a pretty solid option for co-op with your kid sibling -- or a drinking buddy, for that matter.

Nintendo Life (Sep 15, 2010)
Batman: The Brave and the Bold is easy for young crusaders to get into and feel like a champ while providing just enough depth for older players to get a bat-kick out of it. Clocking in at around four hours it’s not the most lengthy of adventures, but there’s enough replay incentive here to last awhile for the bat-willing. While it’s not a pusher of boundaries for its genre, it’s certainly a very fun bat-take on beat-em-ups.

The Brave and the Bold bietet sowohl auf Konsole als auch Handheld kurzweilige Jump'n'Fight-Action in schmuckem Cartoon-Look.

GameSpot (Sep 08, 2010)
The Brave and the Bold is a good-looking game that makes great use of its presentation to suck you into the adventure, and the striking, hand-drawn visuals are impressive throughout. Every character is well animated and finely detailed, mirroring its television counterpart impressively well, and the wide assortment of backdrops continually give you something new to ogle. The punishment-free combat does little to separate the game from other beat-'em-ups, but smooth controls and a good variety of enemies keep things from feeling stale. The Brave and the Bold may not reinvent the genre, but a pleasing aesthetic and fun gameplay make this a good choice for anyone itching for some more time with the Batman.
The Video Game Critic (Dec 03, 2010)
The Bold and the Brave definitely gets the "hard stuff" right, combining old-school fun with new-school technology. A difficulty option would have gone a long way, but it's still a fun trip.
66 (Oct 22, 2010)
Batman: The Brave and The Bold will be a huge disappointment for fans of Arkham Asylum. It may look cool and the cut-scenes are nicely done, but the game is finished way too fast and the difficulty degree is way too low. Also some additional heroes with whom you could fight at Batman's side wouldn't have hurt. For those that want an arcade game that only needs brainless bashing this title may be an option. Or for kids who aren't old enough to play a game with a real challenge.

The Brave and The Bold.
IGN (Sep 07, 2010)
If The Brave and the Bold was a downloadable title I would buy it in an instant. But it's a full $40 game. There's a lot of flair and style with The Brave and the Bold, but it's a pretty mindless affair, even for a kids' game. It gets repetitive, and I found myself wishing every episode was shorter so I could see the cool cutscenes faster. Batman fans with young kids might get a couple days worth of fun out of this. I found it most enjoyable to play one episode a day over four days, because otherwise the game got more annoying than Bat Mite.
WiiDSFrance (Oct 06, 2010)
GameZone (Sep 22, 2010)
So while there are several high moments, they are few and far between. The cooperative elements are a sure-fire hit, but it’s not enough to make it a recommendation unless you are dying to have a new game to play with a partner.
60 (Sep 26, 2010)
It’s a gift for fans of the show, but in terms of repetition and combat this is just a little too similar to the 16-bit games it seeks to pay homage to.
60 (Oct 21, 2010)
GamesRadar (Sep 29, 2010)
Batman: The Brave and the Bold takes place over four chapters, each separated into a handful of levels. You can grab a second controller and team up with a friend or family member, but you might not want to subject them to the boredom.
