Zen Pinball: Moon Knight
Description
Moon Knightis a DLC pinball table for Zen Pinball 2 (Mac) and on mobile for Zen Pinball ((T)HD) and Marvel Pinball, available as an in-app purchase.
It is based on the eponymous character who appears in several Marvel comic books. In this table he hunts with Khonshu, the Egyptian god of vengeance, during a looming lunar eclipse, mainly to defy the plots of Seth, the Egyptian divinity of death.
The table design reflects the character's colour, with lots of chrome combined with blue elements. There is a regular set of flippers on the left, an additional one in the top right, and another one in the top right on an elevated part. The game's mission modes are activated through two ramps, with four modes for each. The game modes are unlocked through the position of the hands of a large clock on the playfield. Before the ball is launched the hands keep turning and once the ball is in the table the clock stops, defining the game modes available initially. The flipper in the top right corner is used to launch the ball over an almost invisible ramp to hit a large grey moon that can appear in the top left part. It launches a separate mini playfield where targets need to be shot down. It can be accessed multiple times in succession, but each time with more objects added to block the shots.
A war chest in the top right part is used to collect three types of orbs. Red orbs for instance allow you to upgrade the hideout for various elements and bonuses, selected through a virtual LED display. Red orbs are also used to level up lanes up to five levels when the collected amount is maxed out. In the THUG-1 mission you need to reach a crime scene before the police does. You launch the ball into a burning car wreck on the left side of the table and then you can set the ball in the playfield on fire to hit flame vessels for an extra ball. During a separate mini-game you control Moon Knight with his moon crossbow through a shoulder view. You need to aim and take out thugs. It is also possible to activate the mooncopter on the playfield, filled with bombs. There are two types of multiball and one involves the character Midnight. Three other types of missions revolve around the characters Morpheus, Black Spectre and Bushman. Another mini-game is the LED video mode rough customers. It simulates a simplified beat 'em up with attacking and blocking. There are three outlanes on the left and two on the right. A box in the bottom left part of the table is used for taxi fares.
