Madō Monogatari (魔導物語, Tale of Sorcery) is a series of dungeon-crawling first-person RPGs by Compile, starring the child (in later games teenage) heroine Arle, an apprentice magician. Recurrent gameplay elements of the series include magic-only battles and absence of any numeric statistics - damage, health and magic bars, level progression etc. can be deduced from animations and sometimes text messages.
