Biography edit · view history

After creating some of the most memorable sound effects ever to be heard before or since in the CD-ROM gaming industry, Jim Spurgin was let go from Gray Matter, the company sighting "his interest in gaming was secondary to his love of music". While on the job however, Spurgin created over 75% of the sounds used on Redneck Rampage, a first-person shooter developed by Gray Matter for Interplay, yet was only credited with the title "additional sound effects creator".

Also known publicly as James Clay Garrison, he was also co-writer of all music performed and featured under the band name "Cement Pond" but again was shorted in the credits. This time, even though Spurgin is the registered copyright holder and published owner of the Cement Pond songs his name was notably absent from the writing credits.

Spurgin has gone on record and perform under the name "James Clay Garrison" and in 2003, released a compilation of his favorite recordings from the 90s called "The Grand Experience". This recording has gained accolades from critics and music magazines as well as fans from Southern California to Louisiana.

Christmas 2010 marks the future release date for "1000 Million Miracles", James' second solo release of the decade. His music is viewable now on YouTube.
