Marilyn Manson is the stage name of Brian Hugh Warner, a musician and actor who was born on January 5, 1969 in Canton, Ohio. His stage name is formed from the names of actress Marilyn Monroe and convicted criminal Charles Manson. Mostly known for his controversial music with his band, also called Marilyn Manson, he has also created art and acted in film, television and video games. He had a part in the film Lost Highway and was the voice of the alien Edgar in the game Area-51. He has provided music for the games Cold Fear, Spawn: Armageddon and WWE Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth. He has attended Broward Community College for a degree in journalism. At one time, he wrote music articles for the south Florida magazine 25th Parallel. Manson has been married and divorced to actress and model Dita Von Teese (born Heather Sweet).
