Jacob Snipes

Jacob (Jake) Snipes worked as a Gameplay Programmer at Santa Monica Studio on God of War: Ragnarök (2022) until he passed away in 2020. The game is dedicated to his memory and also contains the side quest Across the Realms to honor him. During the quest, you will happen upon a rainbow campfire that "never stops burning." In addition, there is the Ballad of Jari and Somr that references Snipes and his partner Sam Handrick who also worked on the game. They met when Snipes joined the company in 2019. They discussed leaving a legacy in the game and this can be seen through the green hearts scattered on some rocks with their initials in runes.
