Education
Martin Elsaesser studied animation at the German School for Film and Television “Konrad Wolf” in Babelsberg near Berlin where he made his Master of fine Arts in 2003. During his studies he focused on 3D animation and finished school with an overall grade of 1.0 (A+). He was also trained in painting, figure drawing and clay sculpting.
Work Experience 2005-2006: Radon Labs GmbH, Berlin, Germany: Head of Grafics
At Radon Labs Martin Elsaesser was leading the grafics department with 20 in house artists and created standard operation procedures for the art department. He also managed outsourcing tasks to Asian and Eastern European service providing companies.
2003-2005: Rotobee Realtime 3D GmbH, Berlin, Germany: Art Director, Lead Character Artist
Martin Elsaesser was leading the art department with 6 in house artists. He also created the game characters for the PC games Singles: Flirt Up Your Life! and Singles 2: Triple Trouble, and prepared marketing deliverables.
2001-2003: YAGER Development GmbH, Berlin, Germany: Lead Character Artist
For this project Martin Elsaesser did modeling, texturing and rigging of characters for the Xbox game Yager. He also animated 30 minutes of cut scene sequences and was responsible for the complete rendering and lighting process of all cut scene sequences.
2000-2001: Liquid Image GmbH, Berlin, Germany: Character Artist
For Liquid Image Martin Elsaesser was modeling and texturing characters for TV commercials for clients like Procter&Gamble and Melitta.
1997-1998: TerraTools GmbH, Berlin, Germany: 3D Artist, Animator
At his first games industry job Martin Elsaesser was modeling and texturing game content for games published by Microsoft.
