Biography edit · view history

John Bair is the lead artist and designer as well as other 1/2 of the original Mind Factory Studios team. He tends to day dream a lot, loves to work in 3d and recently fell in love with pixel art. He got his start as a designer working at Buena Vista Games / Disney Interactive on the Blue Sky Think Tank team. Together with several other coworkers he designed the original concept of Disney Epic Mickey and a few other unannounced titles.

From Disney, Bair bounced around between several small studios and freelance gigs until settling on a teaching position with ITT-Technical Institute. Here he was responsible for the entire Digital Entertainment and Game Design program and rewrote the curriculum to be up to par with industry standards. He focused on each student finding 1-2 specialties within the game industry and developed these skill sets to give them a fighting chance in the world of game design.

Teaching gave John an outlet for his creative mind and really allowed him to develop his 3d skills. Feeling confident, he moved into another game company as an environment artist. That company was called Left Field Studios.

Working with friends at this company was a blast and Bair was given the ability to really push himself further then he thought he could. After working for the company on 2 titles and third that was not released, John went back to teaching at ITT but expanded his area of influence by getting an additional teaching position at the Moorpark Community College.

Then Bair decided he should start his own game company. Finding a solid business partner and someone that thinks on a more programming side of things, Mind Factory Studios was born. Being run by John Bair and Trevor Rice they have already released one title called Little City on iOS devices and are planning on releasing several more.
