Janusz Christa is a famous comics writer. He was born on 19 July 1934 in Vilnius. During the Second World War he moved to Sopot. He made his debut as an illustrator in 1956 in the journal "Przygoda", writing the story "Kuku i Ryku" and "Opowieść o Armstrongu". He published also "Rock and Roll" comics in the magazine "Jazz". In 1958 he debuted in the magazine "Wieczór Wybrzeża" with a series of comics "Kajtek and Koko" and later in 1972 with his most famous series "Kajko and Kokosz". After 17 years he moved to „Świata Młodych” magazine, shortly afterwards to „Relax” magazine. At the beginning of the twenty-first century publishing house Egmont Polska started issuing volumes of all his comics in the form of complete albums. Christa died after a serious illness on 15 November 2008 at the age of 74 in Sopot.
