Vivek Melwani is an experienced game designer and department manager. He currently serves as the Department Manager of Design at Nintendo in Redmond, Washington (USA) since November 2016.

Prior to Nintendo, Melwani held the position of Department Chair for Game Software Design & Production at DigiPen Institute of Technology in Singapore from July 2011 to April 2015. During his nearly 4-year tenure, he oversaw the curriculum and academic activities related to game design and production, helping to nurture the next generation of game developers. He previously was an instructor at the institute from August 2008 to April 2009 as well.

Melwani also co-founded Igloo Games, where he served as the co-founder responsible for design and art from July 2008 to July 2011. Igloo Games was known for developing games for iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad platforms, including titles such as Dizzy Bee (2008), Bed Bugs, and Flipside.

His career in the gaming industry began at Electronic Arts, where he worked as a Game Designer from October 1997 to December 1999. During his time at EA, Melwani contributed to projects such as Future Cop L.A.P.D. (1999) and Road Rash: Jailbreak (2000).
