Biography edit · view history
David has had a deep personal connection with fantasy and computer gaming. At 14 he programmed a clone of Tailgunner for personal use on a BBC B, then moved on to playing Dungeon games on a PDP11. After brief affairs with ORICS, Spectrums and BBC Micros (including too many hours playing Elite) he left University and started working.
David is a Chartered Accountant. He started his career with Deloitte & Touche in audit in 1987 specializing in high technology applications and companies. This included several royalty audits and reviews of intellectual property income. After working in over nine countries on a variety of finance and commercial projects, David joined the forensic accounting department in 1994 and specialized in enterprise risk management and fraud investigations. Over the last two years he recruited and ran the cutting edge forensic computer technology team. He has real experience of the issues and commercial reality of software creation and marketing - including dealing with contentious litigation and software theft.
In 2002 he was Managing and Financial Director of Black Cactus.
