An early adopter of the Commodore products (PET, KIM-1, Sym, etc) Matt Ganis created a number of games for the popular 6502 based platforms. His first commerical success was with Programma International where he and his partner, Fred Covitz, published their first game for the Commodore PET, Z-A-P. Additonal games such as Bombardier, Space Race and Acey Deucy soon followed.

He later experiemented with a 4 part harmony music system created first by Hal Chamberlin (or Micro Technology Unlimited) and then advanced by Dr. Frank Covitz. Matt (again with his programming partner Fred Covitz) produced a number musical renditions ranging from JS Bach to the Beatles.

Ganis went on to receive a BS in Computer Science (85), an MBA in Information Systems (91) - both from Pace University, an MSc in Astronomy from the University of Western Sydney (2001) and a Doctorate of Professional Studies in Computing from Pace University (2007).

Dr Matt Ganis is an IBM Senior Technical Staff Member in the Social Insights Group of the CIO where he specializes in the use of Social Media Analytics. Apart from understanidng sentiment and volumes of conversation as it pertains to IBM, he is investigating new technologies to understand how influencers in social media relate to IBM. Matt and his team have helped a large number of IBM organizations to adopt social media analytics as they listen to the “voice of the customers”.Dr Matt Ganis is an IBM Senior Technical Staff Member in the Social Insights Group of the CIO where he specializes in the use of Social Media Analytics.
