Biography edit · view history
Thomas Carton was born near Paris/France in 1978. He used to develop games since his early age on different platforms, starting with 8/16 bits computers. At that time he was doing 6502 and 680x0 assembler and was passionated by optimizing the most to take advantage of every bit. As a teenager he wrote multiple development articles about programming and optimizing, and was a brilliant demo maker. That led him to be hired as a trainee by a french game studio while he was finishing his studies.
He was then hired by 4x Technologies in 2000 as a R&D Engineer to work on their 3D Engine and video codec on different platforms. He became the developer of the Phoenix VR engine in 2002 used by game studios such as Microids, Index+, Galilea, ...
At the end of 4x Technologies, he was hired by OmniCreative to finish their second adventure title. He had to develop the game from scratch in two weeks to catch up the delay and provide the players with an experience that deserved the beautiful environments made by the graphic team.
