Chris Roberts

Developer BIO

Chris Roberts is best known for creating the Wing Commander series.

He came to the United States in 1986 from England because he wanted to make a computer game he had imagined for years. He did make his game with Origin in 1988, which was called Times of Lore, and its icon-based interface had a strong influence on the design of Ultima 6.

In 1996, he left Origin and started his own company, Digital Anvil, a software and multimedia production company, with plans to produce full-length feature films in conjunction with their games.
