Chicken Squeeze
Description
Chicken Squeeze is a Facebook game developed by the marketing agency Famous for the Belgian branch of the Gaia Movement, an international network of individuals and groups that share a concern for living more sustainably on Earth. It was created to protest against sauce production company Devos Lemmens and supermarket chains Colruyt, Carrefour, Aldi and Delhaize as Gaia claims all of these companies still use eggs from chicken in battery cages for their products.
The protest game is a variant of Tetris where the falling blocks have been replaced by chickens that have been squeezed into the different shapes. Players need to make lines and when lines disappear, they form a row of eggs. Meanwhile a reworked version of the famous Russian Korobeiniki folk song that was made famous by Tetris is played, but with chicken sounds. When the game is over a tally of the amount of collected eggs is shown, in a "ridiculously close space".
