Description

The third installment of the famous 3d shooter Descent. Hop in your Pyro-GX, dive at high speed into the mines and blast hordes of robots without mercy!

Descent³ features the same 360 degrees, three axis action that the players of Descent and Descent II have come to love, but this time the game has far improved 3D graphics, more diversified objectives, more lethal weapons, and 3 different ships you can pilot.

And for the first time in the Descent series, you can actually fly out of the mines and explore outdoor areas.

Descent³ was also designed with multiplayer play in mind, and features a lot of mutiplayer game modes: the classic deathmatch, teamplay, capture the flag, monsterball (a kind of soccer with giant balls) and entropy.

Trivia

Weird Robots
While playing enable the "almighty" cheat, then type "dance party" and watch the robots do some very amusing things :)

Tile message on floor in Chapter 9 - PTMC Spacecraft Factory
Get to Chapter 9 - PTMC Spacecraft Factory. If you don't know how to get there, type in "moreclang" and type "9" during the game then hit enter.
This level is staged on Mercury and flying your ship in the sun will cause damage, so type "burgergod" for invincibility. When the level starts, your ship is under a platform protected from the sun and there is a pathway in front. It only leads one way so this should be easy to describe. Fly straight down the pathway until you get at the "Y" or fork in the pathway before the first entrance, then stop. Turn 90 degrees to your right and fly straight. If you scavenge the floor as you pass over a small hill, towards the end before you run into the side of a wall (mountain) you'll see the message "4 Straight Hours" and a picture of an eye above it.

Teletubbies Baby in the Sun
On Level 2, when you are out in the open (with the purple sky above you), look up and find the sun. It isn't hard to find, and there it is, the infamous baby in the sun from Teletubbies.
Now as you look at it, type "teletubbies" and a giant door will appear over the sun. You can't go through it, but the horrid sun is gone.
