Lumines: Puzzle Fusion
Description official descriptions
A puzzle game in which the goal is to place as many 2-color falling blocks (a la Tetris) on the playing field in like-colored blocks in order to wipe it clean. During play, a timeline crosses the field from left to right, clearing and counting up your matches. The more matches you make before the timeline wipes them clean, the bigger the combo multiplier towards your score.
As you progress through the game, Lumines will reward you with new "skins" which completely change the graphics, sound effects and music during play.
In "puzzle" mode, you stack the blocks in order to create the various shapes that you are shown.
Lumines also lets you play against the CPU or wirelessly against another player on the PSP.
The 2007 PS2 port is completely identical to the PSP version, except for some new skins.

Trivia
1001 Video Games
The PSP version of Lumines appears in the book 1001 Video Games You Must Play Before You Die by General Editor Tony Mott.
PSP firmware
When the PSP upgraded to version 3.5 of the firmware, it blocked the ability for people to downgrade the firmware at a future date in order to run homebrew game. However on June 23, 2007 an exploit/hack was found when running the game Lumines: Puzzle Fusion that would allow people owning this game to be able to run programs and change the firmware. By Monday June 25, 2007... the game was showing a 750% increase in sales. By the end of the month, the game's sales had risen by 5000% from what it once was. This exploit has since been fixed in PSP Firmware version 3.51
