Super Accelerator 1 is a microprocessor developed by Nintendo for use in Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) game cartridges. At its base, the SA-1 is an upgraded 65816-compatible coprocessor that runs alongside the SNES's 5A22 CPU (also a 65816-based processor). The coprocessor scheme allows the game console to process data faster.
