Overview edit · view history
World Forge, founded in late 2004, is a game development studio based in Voronezh, Russia. It was established by Burut Creative Team as an expansion of its activities and focused mainly on real-time strategy games. The studio created Ancient Wars: Sparta (2006) and its sequel/independent expansion pack Great War Nations: The Spartans (2007), as well as Age of Alexander (2009). Between the release of those three games set during the time of classic antiquity, the company released a real-time strategy game set in the middle ages called The Golden Horde (2008).
The studio next game was the action RPG Taras Bulba. It was released under the banner of the World Forge development team, but was mainly created by Burut as the two studios had merged by then.
At its height, the company had employed 50 employees. The studio still exists in 2023.
