Overview edit · view history

InnoGames is a game development studio with its headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. It was founded in 2007 to handle the operation and continued development of the game Tribal Wars. The browser game started as a hobby project for the brothers Eike Klindworth and Hendrik Klindworth who made it together with Michael Zillmer. The game was first launched in June 2003. A second world was introduced in 2004 and by 2005 it had 50,000 players. Because of the growth the three developers decided to work on the project full-time from that year on and in 2007 the company was officially established.

In 2012 the company employs more than 200 people and the Korean subsidiary InnoGames Korea Ltd. was opened on 1st April 2010. In May 2010, the investor group Fidelity Growth Partners Europe (FGPE) joined InnoGames with a minority share.

In 2012 the browser game Forge of Empires was launched. Other titles by the company are Grepolis, Lagoonia, The West, and West Wars. The studio currently pursues cross-platform play with mobile apps and intends to launch a new game called Kartuga in 2013, which was canceled before it's release.

In 2014 the browser game Tribal Wars 2 was released.
