Overview edit · view history
Volkswagen is a German multinational automaker founded in 1937 by the German Labour Front (Deutsche Arbeitsfront) in Berlin. In an ambitious plan to make automobiles accessible to the masses, Adolf Hitler ordered the "people's car" project and tasked Ferdinand Porsche to lead the development of the now-iconic Beetle.
Besides the Beetle, Volkswagen is now also known for its Golf, Polo and Jetta models amongst other things.
